WHO is OPHELIA?
This is a question that we are often asked, in reality Ophelia is the name that our Creative Director Yazmin Deraco chose to represent the design studio inspired by the famous oil on canvas painting by J.E. Millais present in the Tate Britain Museum in London. The painter chose Ophelia as his subject, one of the protagonists of the famous novel "Hamlet" by William Shakespeare.
Furthermore, the etymology of this name which derives from Greek has the meaning "help" - "she who helps", therefore the perfect choice for an Interior Design studio which aims to help people live better.
Ophelia is also a creative space for young people where they can express their art without limits, in fact in parallel with all the design work, we are involved in social and artistic projects where they are the protagonists, we deeply believe in the new generations in their talent in creating , expressing ourselves and giving voice to this fills us with pride.
Our team is international and is made up of: Architects, Surveyors, Engineers, Interior Designers, Art Curators, Artistic Directors, Artistic Painters, Glass Blowers, Garden Designers and much more, this is because we are constantly evolving in search of new methods to be able to provide the best service to our customers, the intent is for it to be a real artistic and cultural experience shaped in a new living or commercial space.
These are very personal environments, just like our approach, designed specifically to make them authentically yours, we listen to the customer's needs, helping them to achieve and often exceed their expectations, a real life change!.

Pleased to meet you, my name is Yazmin Deraco, I am an Interior Designer born in Buenos Aires (Argentina) but raised between Italy and Spain where I trained, to end up living between the United States and Italy at the same time.
As I always say, my "advantage" was having known right away what I wanted to do in life so every step, every choice and every sacrifice were never by chance. In the last 6 years I have traveled everywhere to continue training but above all for work (I own an engineering company with my husband), I have met different cultures that have taught me a lot and for which I will always be grateful, but where I went I found one factor in common: the difficulties of young people in the working sector, especially in the creative sector.
Finally at a certain point I decide I want to create what is called todayOphelia Design, a space where young minds are praised but above all listened to, understood and respected. We brainstorm ideas and knowledge on a weekly basis, we are all involved in every single project because the strength is in the team and not in the individual. Magic wordWE.
However, it was clear to me that as a concept ofdesign the first thing had to beTHE FUNCTIONALITY, the example I tell everyone is "because a chair must be a chair, made to sit on, not to just admire it", so I wanted to create spaces that were not only beautiful but fully functional that respected the needs of the people inside them.
As a second factor, it was care and respect for theMEDIUM ENVIRONMENT, I always choose the solutions that respect it the most, I love recycling and reusing, I'm always looking for vintage pieces to make the present coexist with the past.
Finally we haveTHE ART, this is the essence of the projects, that everything has a story to tell... the paintings, books, sculptures, even the smallest objects are chosen for a specific reason:THE HISTORY. Personally, I am passionate about history and I wanted to have an Art Curator next to me who, together with me, would help me look for new talents, new artists who I propose in the projects best suited to them and in the interest of the clients who will be able to boast of having exclusive pieces not mass.
Having said all this, I hope to have the honor of being able to enter your homes, your businesses and be able to change your lives together.
